We’ve been recommended by and have photographed weddings at Ripley Castle now for several years. Come rain, snow or shine it’s always been a favourite of ours to work at and we absolutely love visiting the venue.
Ripley Castle is a beautiful, historic and picture postcard perfect wedding venue.
It is the perfect venue for your wedding ceremony, wedding reception, civil wedding, civil partnership, or if you wish to renew your vows.
The Ripley Castle team are friendly and professional and provide a seamless level of service together with a total commitment to ensure that your wedding day exceeds every expectation.
They have a number of rooms within the Castle’s Main House and East Wing licensed for wedding ceremonies, including the oak panelled 16th century Library and the Amcotts Room, an old coach house, which was beautifully restored a few years ago. The Ripley Castle chefs have an excellent reputation for their superb cuisine.
Whatever the time of year, guests can enjoy champagne on the terrace during your reception and admire the beautiful scenery, or on the circular lawn in front of the East Wing of the Castle.
The photography options are endless, you can stay near to the castle should you not want to stray afar, however if you fancy a stroll through the beautiful grounds then the lake makes a perfect backdrop for your photography (and it’s not too far away).
Should the weather not be playing ball on the day, the hotel has plenty of options inside and more importantly lots of space and gorgeous details to work with.

Ruth & Jonathan’s Wedding September 11th 2010
This was one of the last hot summer days we had last year, it now seems like a long distant memory!
Anyway, this was also the first time we’d photographed a wedding at Crathorne Hall, Yarm in North Yorkshire.
Ruth was getting ready at home but wanted to stop half way to the venue as there was a lovely cow field that had a fantastic view of Crathorne Hall in the distance.
Music on the day was provided by The Event Music Company (part of the Yorkshire Wedding Collective), flowers were supplied by Carl Banks and the theme for the table plan was based around a selection TV/Movie Stars!

If you’re thinking of attending, too late!!! It was last week!
If you missed it then here’s what you missed…
We had a really busy week getting ready for last Thursdays event, with a few of us pulling together to create a really lovely evening for everyone that attended. Collating loads of super things to go in our exclusive goody bags, arranging the furniture to create a cosy atmosphere and making our event something totally different to anything seen before in Harrogate.
On the evening our guests were met at the door and offered a glass of fizz from our vintner Yorkshire Vintners, once inside they had chance to speak with some exclusive Yorkshire Wedding suppliers and look at some inspirational wedding ideas whilst being entertained by the superb Event Music Company’s Trio and nibbling on delightful canapes courtesy of Saunts Caterers.
We’d set up in the basement alongside Louise Nunn Make Up , creating a comfortable area where we could chat informally with everyone and demonstrate a few behind the scenes techniques.
I’ve got to say it was absolutely brilliant and so different from a wedding fayre, I couldn’t believe it when I looked at my watch and realised it was 21:30, it seemed like 30 minutes since our first guests arrived two and a half hours earlier! Everyone seemed so relaxed and we chatted about all kinds of different things that could never be demonstrated or discussed at a wedding fayre, everyone seemed so at home with guests perching on the arms of sofas and discussing their wedding plans with each other!
So, a total success, if you were there, I hope you had a great night and we can’t wait for the next one.
Here’s a few photos I took in the last few minutes of our preparations for the event, I had intended to get around and take some during the event but didn’t have time
