The Star Inn, Harome, Wedding Photography – Rachel and Andrew
Rachel and Andrew picked a scorcher of a day for their church wedding followed by their reception at the fabulous Star Inn Harome.
Our wedding photography on the day started as Rachel and the bridesmaids were getting ready in one of the super rooms at The Star Inn, Andrew was in the bar with some wedding guests ‘cooling down’. Rachel wore a dress from Andrea Bambridge in York with some very funky Vivienne Westwood shoes. The bridesmaids dresses were lovely numbers from LK Bennett which looked fab. Rachel took care of her own make-up and had the superb stylist Geoffrey Stuart of York look after everyones hair requirements. Once ready all that was required was a quick splash of Coco Mademoiselle and a stroll in the glorious sunshine through the village to the church – it really couldn’t have been better!
The church service was excellent and we were allowed to take some photos during the proceedings which is always fantastic as there are so many opportunities to catch some lovely moments. As Rachel and Andrew exited the church the jazz trio got into action and we all walked up the road in the sun with the trio walking amongst everyone playing great music – it was so cool (the scene – not the weather).
We then headed off with the newlyweds for some photos around the village, at one point ‘borrowing’ an elderly couples deckchairs for a shot by the pond which to be fair would’ve looked a bit better if it weren’t full of murky brown water. Other notable moments during our stroll around were shots with their MX5 sports car, the phone box and some sheds that made for a great vintage style backdrop, oh and a convoy of farm traffic passing as we took the group photos!
The beautiful flowers on the day were by Wards the Florist in York with favours on the tables by Lovehearts.com.
The wedding stationery was produced by Gee Brothers in London and rings were bought from A Fattorini in Harrogate.
As we arrived back for the reception at The Star inn the drinks were flowing and the guests were enjoying Andrew Perns excellent Canapes – a little ‘taster’ of the delightful food they were about to be treated to for the wedding breakfast! The jazz trio invited Rachel and Andrew to join in and play a couple of tunes, that bit didn’t go quite as well as we’d hoped but it made for a great photo, and then an impromptu first dance to the trio in the sun was quite possibly the best first dance we’ve had the pleasure of photographing.
