Last month we photographed Camille and Garys wedding ceremony at the lovely St Josephs Church in Harrogate.

On the day we popped into The Crown Hotel first for some bride prep photos & Camille had chosen Bonita B for Make-Up (nice to see you again Bonnie). Once ready Camille looked stunning in her Pronovias dress with mega heels so we headed downstairs to take some portraits before rushing off to the church a little later than planned.

We love working at St Josephs because having worked there a number of times it’s always nice to see Father Byrne who’s always so accommodating and his services are always lovely.

After the ceremony we moved on to the Crown Hotel for the reception drinks and then headed into town with Camille & Gary whilst dodging the rain which I don’t remember being forecast.
As the weather was a bit dodgy we soon head back to the hotel to crack on with the group photos which we did inside and just about managed to complete as guests were called to be seated for the wedding breakfast, we always knew this was going to be a tight one for time!

One of Camille’s friends had created the beautiful flowers for the couple and it was a shame to hear she’s no longer a florist as I’m sure brides are missing out on her skills!

Big thanks go to the staff at The Crown who kept everything running nicely on the day, turned the room around in record time and fed us chocolate profiteroles which were yummy!

It was great to have our first wedding of the year at a familiar venue, with staff we know (and get on well with) and of course a lovely bride and groom and their respective family and friends.
I checked the weather forecast on the Friday and it was rain in the morning which was due to clear by lunchtime with a bit of sun to follow and a drop in temperatures. Saturday morning arrived and I took a peak out of the window to see it absolutely chucking it down – eeek! But for once they got the forecast bang on and as we arrived at Rudding the sun was out and it was all looking good.

Faye and her bridesmaids were all pretty chilled and Faye was having the last bits of her make-up done by Sarah Aveyard which included what I was told was ‘fairy dust’ – OK, I’m not falling for that one girls but it did photograph quite well

The stunning flowers were arranged by Colette who’s the talented in-house florist at Rudding and the Radcliffe room chairs were dressed by Tahlia.

The attention to detail by all the staff at Rudding and other vendors was obvious as everything looked absolutely perfect and extremely stylish which was clearly exactly how Faye had planned everything to look.

As expected everything ran smooth as clockwork as Faye & Stephen had worked with us by switching the format of the day around slightly to ensure we got the best use of available light (don’t worry, this wasn’t changed on the day, it was all planned months in advance) so after the Civil Ceremony they had a drinks reception with a few group shots and some photo’s around the hotel followed by a blessing in the chapel as the light was starting to disappear. It actually worked perfectly having the blessing a little later as it was a little more atmospheric with the candles in the chapel.

After their wedding breakfast their was a little surprise for Faye as a secret firework display had been arranged by Ferrensby Fireworks (nice to see you all again guys – how cold was it out there?) which then lead nicely into cutting of the cake and first dance.

In 1625 the Old Deanery was built on the site of part of the former monastery of St Wilfred, for use by the Canon-in-Residence.

The principal feature of the house is the fine 17th century oak staircase. Except for the two rooms in the 1799 range, all the ground floor rooms have 17th century moulded plaster cornices as have some of the first floor rooms.

Some ‘ancient groining’ was revealed during the alterations of 1859 which added the bay windows to the front. In digging the foundations for the eastern of these windows three human skeletons were unearthed. This was the time when Lewis Carroll was visiting Ripon.

In later years the army used the building during the Second World War. In 1945 the building was converted to a restaurant. In April 1974, workmen discovered a door which had been invisibly encased in an outer wall of the building for an estimated 150 years. The door was still on its hinges and it was decided to use it as the main entrance to the restaurant, which it remained until 1990.

In more recent years, a full refurbishment of this grade two listed red star building and the interior was embarked upon in 2001 to provide the 10 bedroomed hotel and restaurant as seen today.

The location opposite the Cathedral in Ripon is beautifully positioned, close to Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales, in the heart of North Yorkshire.

The attractive terraced gardens with a backdrop of weeping willows, together with tables and parasols (weather permitting), are accessed through french doors from the garden room, adding to the charm of this historic but very stylish building, which is a truly unique and attractive venue for a very special occasion.

Beth & Jonathan tied the knot back on August 12th at the Old Deanery in Ripon, North Yorkshire.

They had a beautiful day and their were lots of lovely details for us to capture.

Beth’s dress was a gorgeous number from Jenny Packham, she purchased it from Ava Rose Hamilton in Silsden.

The rest of the wedding party were fitted out with dresses from Monsoon and suits from Moss Bros.

A few family friends were also involved on the day by offering their help with hair, makeup, cakes, flowers, favours and video.

Others popular suppliers on the day included Jo Malone and Agent Provocateur!

To complete their special day, Obscurity Knocks from Bradford got everyone up and rocking with the evening entertainment!
