It was one of those lovely sunny days back in May (some are already referring to it as summer 2010), it seems like ages ago now!
Paul and Lucy started the day with their ceremony at the Sacred Heart in Northallerton followed by their reception at Solberge Hall in North Yorkshire.
Lucy wore a beautiful dress by Johanna Hehir, London and hair decoration by Emmy.
Other suppliers on the day included Bettys for the wedding cakes, the flowers were supplied by Fiori Flowers in Northallerton and the car was courtesy of Elite Wedding Cars in County Durham.
Here are some photographs from the day that have a bit of a vintage processing style, well it’s all the rage at the moment isn’t it!

Qing & Stuart tied the knot on June 19th at one of our favourite local venues Goldsborough Hall North Yorkshire.
The weather on the day was cold and a bit overcast, however the rain managed to stay away which enabled us to get outdoors for some stunning photos of them both in the beautiful gardens.
Qing wore a gorgeous dress by Rivta Westenius and her flowers were by Lynda Moss Flowers of Harrogate.
Other suppliers on the day included Patisserie Viennoise of Otley for the wedding cake (these guys do some amazing stuff!), Pawprintz Cards for their Stationery and Pianist Carolyn Brown.

Alison & Glenn were married at Oulton Hall in Leeds on what was probably the hottest day this year. They were great fun to work with & we worked fast with their shots so they could get back to the cool reception drinks
During the reception the pianist (who’d set up outside in direct sunlight) started to turn a severe shade of red which we thought we should point out to him, I think he survived but I bet he felt that the next day!
Aaaaanyway here’s a few shots from the wedding.

About time we posted something here!
Here are a few images form Carmel & Dominics wedding in May (yes, we’ve got a bit of catching up to do on the blog). The ceremony was at St Josephs on Skipton Road followed by one of our favourite venues Ripley Castle. Although we did have a bit of rain on the day everyone had a jolly good time and we (well everyone but me) all managed to keep pretty dry.

Cat & Rick got married on Sunday May 23rd, you should all remember the day pretty well, it was absolutely boiling! We arrived at the wonderful Crab & Lobster in Asenby to find everyone in the hotel trying their hardest to keep cool. I found the perfect spot when I nipped down to the cellar to get the bouquets for a photo, and as I was there it reminded me that they have a special ‘secret’ beer pump, apparently if you can find it, you can use it and pull your own free pint (no, don’t worry I didn’t start pouring myself free beers before photographing the wedding).
After taking a few detail shots I left Diane with Cat & the girls and headed off to the church which is about a mile up the road in the village of Baldersby to find Rick and the guys outside chatting to a few guests and enjoying the sunshine. We always knew that Cat & Rick would be great to work with and although we were fairly tight on the timings, everything ran to schedule and everyone had a fantastic day. Sun, weddings and great people, what more could you ask for?

Danny & Kim’s Wedding April 2010, Ripon, North Yorkshire
Danny and Kim booked their wedding with us back in December, seems like about twenty three minutes ago. Anyway, their chosen venue The Old Deanery in Ripon, North Yorkshire is an absolutely superb hotel right next to Ripon Cathedral, offering loads of great photo locations.
The weather was great on the day, we had a little bit of sunshine and the temperature was just right so we had a stroll down the road and incorporated some of the lovely historic backdrops into their shots. As Danny is in the RAF, and was wearing his very smart uniform we couldn’t help but use the local RAFA branch as a backdrop for a couple of the images.

From traditional to classic vintage, to modern, so much choice!
Should it be the modern sleek Bentley, or perhaps the more romantic horse and carriage, or maybe it should be a bit more funky with the good old VW Camper.
What form of wedding transport would you choose?

This was actually the grooms car, we had a client last week comment that this image was like something out of Vogue Magazine!

Gabby & Drew commissioned us last year to photograph their wedding at The Star at Harome this July.
At their pre-wedding shoot the other week, unfortunately the rain came down throughout, rather heavier than we expected, however everyone managed to stay dry, except Morgan who needed a dry towel by the time we’d finished! Good on Gabby & Drew for going out in the rain, I’m sure they‚’ll think it was worth it.

Many wedding venues use the standard banqueting chairs for weddings and events, you know the ones, usually with a few slats in the back and a cushion seat for that extra bit of comfort!
Having photographed many weddings over the past few years we can definitely see the difference between having the seat covers to not having them.
It may seem like an extra unnecessary expense (especially in these difficult financial times) but it really does seem to make a difference and adds a more elegant look and feel to the wedding breakfast room.
Recently we have joined the Yorkshire Wedding Collective in Harrogate, and part of the group is Simply Seat Covers, these guys offer a really personal service and cover throughout Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
Here are some images from local venues showing both with and without the seat covers. What do you think? Any comments are welcome.
