Back in June we did Emma and Mike’s wedding photography, their day started off at Saint Anne’s Cathedral in Leeds city centre followed by a Tipi (supplied by Papakata) at Bramham Park.
The day was another scorcher and a great time was had by all, even the Lurcher who turned up out of the blue at Bramham Park (obviously owned by someone who lives on the estate), the dog was a very friendly character and kept some of the guests entertained before leaving a little less hungry than when he arrived!
Emma wore a stunning Jenny Packham dress on the day, other suppliers included Saunts who did the catering, Cherry Gorgeous for the stationery and Get Chocolatey for the fountain.

We did a pre wedding shoot in Harrogate the other week for Emma & Mike. Their wedding is at Saint Anne’s Cathedral in Leeds, which is right next to the Town Hall offering loads of potential for some pretty cool photography. Then we head off to Bramham Park for their reception, I can’t say much about that at the moment, just in case it’s top secret, so errr yeah – can’t wait.

We were contacted by Rock My Wedding a couple of months back now, they really liked our work and wanted to feature some of the cool weddings we’ve shot.

It’s great to see a British wedding blog covering all the kinds of cool stuff we usually see on the American blogs.
Big thanks to Francesca and Michael for allowing us to submit their wedding images!

This article is absolutely brilliant, well written and thought provoking. Stuart Jeffries quoted Nigel Farndale from the Telegraph which really made me laugh – “photography, once a noble art, has become, thanks to the move to digital, a mental illness”

Lesley & Nick July 4th 2009
Just had an email from Lesley and Nick whos wedding we photographed a couple of weeks ago, it’s lovely when we receive some kind words and really makes all our hard work worthwhile when we receive a lovely email – see bottom of this post.
I’m sure they wont mind us posting a little excerpt and the bit about the wall made us laugh too.
We had an amazing day at their wedding, saw a lot of people who we know as previous clients which was lovely too. A bit of background on the wall is when we arrived at Goldsborough in the car park we noticed a good location for a photograph, so we parked our car across two (or maybe three) spaces to ensure that we could use it later in the day¬† -¬† ok, so the staff were a bit miffed and did ask if we could move the car but after explaining why we’d parked there they were fine.
So later in the day we left the weding reception with Lesley and Nick and headed up through the village taking shots en route to the car park, only to find when we got there the 6′ gate was bolted from the inside (for security). So the options were to walk (or run) all the way down the village, back through the venue and to the car park from the other side, or to climb the gate / wall. Obviously due to tight timings there was only ever one real option, so with Nick doing the honours I cast aside my fear of heights and scaled the wall to get to the bolt on the other side of the gate.

Here’s Nick giving me a foot up over the wall.

Hiding the fear of heights well!

The location and the resulting photographs that made it all worthwhile!

And here’s a little bit from Lesleys email – Thank you guys, we really appreciate the kind words and look forward to seeing you again soon!
First off can I say how absolutely thrilled we both are with the fabulous pictures of our day. Every single one reminds us of another story and they are a true reflection of our amazing day, even down to Nick giving Morgan a lift over the wall! We laughed till we cried when we saw that photo.
You are both an amazing team to work with, from helping us get ready (never needed so much water in my life!) to having a giggle with the guests. I couldn’t believe it when you came to say goodbye, it felt like the day had gone so quick!
Again, heartfelt thanks. Your amazing photography has helped fill in the gaps where my nerves made my memory rather hazy!

We photographed Wes & Joanne’s wedding at The Old Deanery in Ripon earlier this month and managed to dodge the rain yet again. The father of the bride had arranged for a chimney sweep to be present when they exited the ceremony which took everyone by surprise (apart from us as we’d had a quick tip off thankfully).
Legend has it that 200 years ago a chimney sweep bravely stepped out and stopped the King’s horse and coach as it bolted. King George II was so grateful to the sweep for saving his life that he announced by Royal Decree that all sweeps were lucky!
Today, seeing a chimney sweep on your wedding day is still a lucky omen and many couples (including World Champion Snooker player Stephen Hendry & his wife) choose to have them attend their wedding for a handshake for the groom and a lucky kiss for the bride.

Boyzone concert anyone?
Here’s a lovely Thank You note we’ve just received from Jo & Wes -
We just wanted to say Thank you to you both for our simply stunning wedding album. The photos capture our day perfectly and the layout and finish of the album is breath taking – it is over and above anything we could have imagined. Thank you again – Wes & Jo X

May 23rd 2009 – Harrogate Registry Office followed by Hotel Du Vin
Julia & Tims wedding in Harrogate last month was great fun to photograph as I’ve known Julia and her family for many years. The wedding ran like clockwork, the weather was great and it was fantastic to see so many people who I haven’t seen for a long time.

Last weekend saw us covering the Crystal Clay Pigeon Shoot and Crystal Ball at Ripley Castle. The 2 day event was in aid of Marie Curie cancer care and the hard work, organisation and support from local businesses helped to raise thousands of pounds for the charity. We’d like to thank the winning bidder of our donated lifestyle shoot which raised over a ¬£1000. Over the 2 days we had great fun with everyone and took some super images!
The Clay shoot was not just clays but it also featured a radio controlled plane (called a GNAT), here’s one being hit……

The GNAT waiting for take off…..

Great coffee and pork pies kept everyone going through the morning!
